Friday, July 29
Any time Ride around Keuka Lake starting at the Great Western Winery Visitor Center (or anywhere along the route, with a rest stop at the Visitor Center). If you are have arrived on Thursday and plan to cycle around Keuka Lake, then we recommend parking at the Penn Yann Middle School and taking the route from there. If you are planning to ride only a portion of the route, we recommend parking at the Great Western Winery Visitor Center and doing an out and back from there. The Great Western Winery Visitor Center is about 40 miles from Geneva.
7:00 PM – 9:00 PM: Ice Cream Social at the Scandling Center patio.
Saturday, July 30
6:30 AM to 8:30 AM: Breakfast at your hotel or the Scandling Center cafeteria
8:30 AM: Mass Start will take place from the Colleges
11:30 AM – 2:00 PM: Lunch will be Seneca Lake State Park along the route.
2:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Swap Meet at the Colleges
3:30 PM – 5:00 PM: ETR Board Meeting at the Scandling Center patio. All are welcome.
6:00 PM: Dinner at the Club 86, 86 Avenue East, Geneva – don’t forget your drink coupons! Casual Dress
Sunday, July 31
6:30 AM to 8:30 AM: Breakfast at your hotel or the Scandling Center cafeteria
8:30 AM: Group Photo by Scandling Center (wear your ETR jersey!)
8:45 AM: Mass Start will take place from the Colleges.
11:00 AM – 1:30 PM: Box Lunch at the Scandling Center
Please return your badges so that we can recycle them.
Additional Information
Bike Storage – Sorry, there is no bike storage at this rally. If you are at the dorms, feel free to bring your bike into the building or your room. The Eastern Tandem Rally organization and Hobart & William Smith Colleges are not responsible for anything that is lost or stolen.
Dinner Drink Coupons – You should have received one dinner drink coupon per person for Saturday night’s dinner at the Club 86. The coupons are good for one drink. A cash bar is also available. Please don’t forget your coupons.
Pictures – We will be putting together a slide show of pictures from the rally for the Saturday dinner. Please contact Mike Bianco at 973-879-3427 or give him your pictures at the ETR Board Meeting at 3:30PM on Saturday.
Knapp and Ella Hudson are our photographers for the event. After the rally, we will send out a link to the pictures. You will be able to download pictures or, for a fee, have pictures professionally printed.
Wineries – We recommend visiting the Great Western Winery Visitor Center on Friday and the White Springs Vineyard (4200 NY-14, Geneva; (315) 781-9463) and the Fox Run Winery (670 State Route 14, Penn Yan; (800) 636-9786) on Saturday. The White Springs Winery has live music Saturday afternoons. Both the White Springs and Fox Run wineries are close by. The Wineries Ride is an out and back that goes to the White Springs and Fox Run wineries. Tastings are about $5/person.
Wear your ETR Jersey – Sunday is Wear Your ETR Jersey Day. If you bought this year’s jersey, it would be great for you to wear it on Sunday. If you didn’t buy this year’s jersey, wear your favorite ETR jersey from a prior year.
Dorm Checkout is any time on Sunday. If you are staying until Monday, then plan to check out by noon.
