ETR Patches

Here’s a gallery of early ETR Rally patches, side-by-side. We believe ETR 1983 was the first to create a custom patch, while ETR 1995 was the last. ETR 1987 was the first to introduce a polo shirt. ETR 199x was the first to feature a jersey. Years subsequent to 1995 are the logos off shirts or jerseys.

Designer: Herm Auch

The 1986 Penn Yan and 1995 Geneva patches were both designed by Herm Auch, and share a thematic design similarity. Herm was a graphics artist and reporter for Rochester’s Democrat and Chronicle newspaper. In 1975 Herm and Dick Dougherty rode across America, sending columns home as they went. Here’s a link to Herm’s website.
